Organization 2014 Day 2: Christmas cards

How did DAY 1 of the organization challenge go?  I'd love to hear!

Today is DAY 2.  The challenge for today is to put all Christmas decorations away...but specifically the greeting cards!

We don't have many Christmas decorations in our small condo at this time, so I simply put them all in a labeled plastic storage bin in the basement.  But if you have LOTS of decorations...check out iheartorganizing, she has some great ideas!

We are blessed to get a big stack of Christmas cards!  My challenge for today is doing something with those greeting cards!  If you like to keep them around, consider this idea...this blogger keeps the cards in a basket on the dining room table. Each night at dinner, they pick a card, talk about the sender and pray for them specifically.  What a nice tradition! Here are some other ideas...

1.  Make them into a collage
2. My very own mom used our Christmas greeting cards to make place mats for our high chairs
3. Put them all in a binder and stick them on a shelf
                                             4. Make them into gift tags for next year

Do you have any other ideas for greeting cards that you don't want to throw away?

And...don't forget to enter the giveaway!  Only a few days left!

  1. These are great ideas! I made a little "book" on some rings with our wedding/baby shower cards! It's so fun to look through from time to time! Also, I love Amy and her awesome link up!

  2. I remember making paper boxes out of old greeting cards as a kid. I used to love to store my "treasures" in them.

  3. Great tips! I'm always looking for ways to save my Christmas cards. I just hate throwing them away. Thanks so much for linking up at the Frugal Crafty Home Blog Hop. Have a great day!

  4. Great ideas! I'm so happy to have some fun ways to save our cards! Thanks so much for linking up at Thursday STYLE!

  5. I have cards framed all around the house as Christmas decor. I hate throwing them away too! Thanks for linking up at Thursday STYLE.
