Instant pizza!

I heard on the radio the other morning that soldiers figured out how to make meals using only their coffee makers to cook!  I also saw a pin of someone who used a waffle maker to make cinnamon buns.  I love this out of the box thinking!  So I attempted to make pizza on the waffle maker.  My husband suggested we make a regular one as well, just in case.

First, I flatted out the dough and put it in the center of the maker.  It doesn't spread out as much as waffle batter, so I would suggest making it larger and thinner than shown above.

I put it on the regular setting and in a few minutes, this was my crust!  Now it was still a bit doughy, so I would try a second cycle or plan on cooking them a bit longer in the oven.

The sauce stays put in the waffle holes!  But also keeps the sauce HOTTER than regular pizza, be careful!  We added some cheese and vegetables and finished the cooking in the oven.

Which pizza won the taste test?  I couldn't really taste a difference, but my husband preferred the regular pizza.  The waffle pizza had more of a deep-dish taste and cooked much quicker due to the head-start cooking in the waffle maker.

Let me know if you try this out!
