A new birthday tradition

Today is my birthday!  Twenty-five was a big year for me and my family!  There is a lot to be thankful for!

1.  I was blessed with the privilege to be pregnant with and become mommy to the sweetest little guy, Luke.

2.  I passed my Orthoptics oral boards to become a Certified Orthoptist.

3.  I was able to stand up in my brother and sister-in-law's beautiful wedding.

4.  I became an employee at a wonderful ophthalmology practice in CT.

5.  We said goodbye to a beautiful home in Buffalo and hello to a beautiful condo in CT.

6.  We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary in November and JP makes me a better person everyday.

7.  I passed my postpartum glucose tolerance test and am diabetes free.

8.  We have such wonderful family and friends on both sides!  Everyone was so helpful and caring as we welcomed Luke into the family.  From the birth to the baptism, everyone has been so supportive.

9.  My brother and sister-in-law got pregnant!

10.  My husband started his new job in CT!

My hubby got me roses, a cake, a balloon, and a delicious dinner.  Luke didn't like the balloon!
On another note, we took a trip to Cape Cod in late August with my in-laws.  We were in two cars on the way home and decided to make a quick breakfast stop at Dunkin.  I was first and got a breakfast sandwich but asked the lady if I could pay for the car behind me.  "Are you sure?" she asked, "It's over $13.00!" She thought I was doing a random act of kindness.  I explained that it was my family and that yes, I'd still like to treat them.

This reminded me of a Pinterest pin that someone did a bunch of random acts of kindness for their birthday and I thought I could give it a try!

I couldn't come up with 26 ideas.  So I settled on something else that I want to make a birthday tradition in my mini family!  I'm going to give a Babies R Us gift card to a local mom in need and who is expecting a baby.

I figure I have a connection as a fellow mom wanting the very best for her child, and a connection with the baby who might share my birthday!  I would love for my husband and Lukester to follow suit.  JP already has a charity in mind for his birthday in November.  Maybe you could do something similar in your family!
